Stout flavours... HBF decides

One of the nicest stouts I ever tasted was Lervig 3 Bean which uses tonka, vanilla, and cocoa beans.
Agreed, In my top few stouts as well.
Be careful with the tonka, its very dominant and can turn from vanilla characters to really spicy if over used.

How did this turn out?

Its a decent stout, pretty happy with it and as far as tonka goes, its a "will definitely use again" verdict. I feel theres an earthy bitterness amongst it though. I think perhaps from the cocoa nibs. I think I will leave them out next time and brew a more simple grain bill with vanilla and tonka. I believe they would work really nicely together,
