Sugar!!! too many sorts

I know this has probably been asked many many times before, but please bear with me, but I want to buy sugar for brewing in bulk, 5kg+ amount.

I have bought brewing sugar before, and one was dextrose, and one was maltodextrin.

Could someone clear it up for me, which sugar is best for brewing Beer (brown ale) not lager, and for red wine.
Or even if standard Granulated Sugar (cane) is good.

I plan on making a bit, and wilko's sugar @£2.50 a kilo, is a rip off.
