I have one similar to these. Can hold some hops but probably not enough for some of the current NEIPA craze. Think I could get about 100 g of pellets into it. Otherwise great , also use half of it to catch grain when I circulate wort during mashing.

This is what I have, but as you can see its basically the same. Personally think they're a great cheap alternative to a hop basket.

Hi all ,

Has anyone used the stainless steel tea infusers for the hops in their beer brewing ?

I was thinking using one could save me from having to filter Syphon in to a second vessel before bottling.

Any thoughts on this ?

Yes, I have a thought on this - I use a slightly different approach which I outlined in a different post earlier this evening:

I use one of those. It needs to be weighed down though. I haven't used it in a long time I should add. What I like about it is it can be boiled or oven cooked to be sterilised, as well as star San. What I don't like is it's quite limiting how much you can put in. Muslin cloths are stretchy so can offer more versatility in that area.
