Under normal circumstances the white person would have more vit D than the one from the EM group as they absorbe the sun better but this these are not normal times and as the majority of both white and Em's are spending little time outside I still don't get why the difference is so huge.
I don't see whats not to understand. If say a white person due to winter then going straight into lockdown is at 50% (totally made up no t make the point) there normal vit d levels this is maybe around the maximum levels a black person would have so they could be now at 20%. In all circumstances the darker your skin the lower vit d levels are.

I get that but we don't just get Vit D from the sun which is a good job in this country there is a huge list of foods that contain it (link below), i also assume if the good doctor in the videos knows Vit D deficiency is higher in EM's surely those in EM groups will be well aware of this and may even take supplements themselves, if any members are from those groups i would love to hear your thoughts.

According to this 90% of vit d comes from sun exposure Vitamin D

In that case i can only refer to my earlier post - if the good doctor in the videos knows Vit D deficiency is higher in EM's surely those in EM groups will be well aware of this and may even take supplements themselves, if any members are from those groups i would love to hear your thoughts.

But your link does recommend taking a suppliment if you think your not getting enough (e.g. Cultural reasons you cover up most of your body)

"To prevent getting low vitamin D levels you need sun exposure to bare skin and, if necessary, to take a vitamin D supplement"

"What if I wear clothing that covers most of my body for cultural/ religious reasons?
This often makes it hard to get enough sun to make vitamin D. It is therefore recommended that you take extra vitamin D in the form of a supplement; this will benefit both you and your baby."

For and against lifting lock down restrictions soon.

For extending or even increasing restrictions
The longer we limit the infections the more info on better treatments we could have
The longer we limit the infections the less infectious people there will be slowing any spike in cases so action can be taken before its to late
The longer we limit the infections the more we will understand about the infection and can better target restrictions with less risk
For many people and businesses having to go back into lockdown would be worse than extending this one

For ending restrictions
Its a massive violation of the most basic human rights, it may have been needed in this emergency but should be ended ASAP
We can't live like this forever and does lifting X restriction now, in 3 weeks, 3 months or next year really make much difference?
About 1/4 the population have almost no risk of death from this virus and over half have very little so why not shield the vulnerable and let everyone else carry on as normal.
The lockdown may start having a negative affect on mental health larger than the benefits to physical health
Food shortages are already occurring in the US

Any more I have missed?

I think after Sunday we will see the start of the end of lockdown, I imagine wearing masks in public will become the new Norm not to protect yourself but to protect others close to you, I cannot see how this would work in pubs and all places where you eat.

That seems the way the narrative is going. I think this is being pushed by business and 'captains of industry' as the polls seem to show the public is in favour of (continuing) the lock down. I bet things like gym's eating places and pubs will be some of the last place to open as as you say how can protections be effectively put in place

Just reading this piece in the Guardian about over 70's having to stay in lock down longer

when going on shopfloor at my work I have got to wear a face mask..

gloves are optional however I think gloves carry a greater risk of cross contamination unless you dispose of them immediatley.

This is what I wonder about the masks and gloves you see people wearing in super market , are they keeping the same mask and gloves?

otherwise they are going to just be putting on contaminated PPE gear all the time.

Ironically I bought a box of 100 gloves in January as was going to wear them when working with some bleach. They only cost about a tenner at the time so reckon if the people you see have a box then probably dispose of them but if someone has given them a pair - well that's not good.

I hope there listening to scientists and not big business or the public. As for restaurants, gyms and pubs I will be very surprised if they give any indication of dates for reopening, though many other countries have.

I hope they're listening to scientists too. I think BJ will be making his 'lock down easing' announcement on Sunday
