I have spent the past couple of hours reading the various forum threads about shortages of White Grape Juice and exhausted all avenues I could think of searching on line so I put in a request to Welch's. I have asked if they still produce the 100% Pure White Grape Juice and what would be the minimum quantity and price they would be prepared to sell to a group of private individuals.

So pending their reply, what sort of quantities and how many people would want some?

Whereabouts are you located?

..... and I am still getting this regularly through ocado. :thumb:

I thought i had posted this info in this thread already but can't see it, if you are stuck for WGJ ring or contact these guys https://www.stute-foods.com/Contact-Stute-Foods Ask them for the wholesaler closest to your area, ring the wholesaler and ask them what retailers they deliver to in your area, then contact the retailers and ask them if they can get a case of WGJ in for you, i went down this route and was able to get a petrol station supplier 1.5 miles away from my house who was happy to get it in for me by the case (8 litres), very few retailers carry it because it doesn't sell in enough numbers to warrant keeping it in stock, the rep said when it was being ordered that it's either for communion or home wine making.

That sounds like a simpler idea! :thumb:

They where happy to give me it at little above cost, 24 litres for £30 as i took 3 cases, a couple of phone calls, no postage charges and a 5 minute detour on the way home from work to pick it up, if you don't ask you don't get.

It's typically about a year iirc, no different than any of the other usual juices, can't check just atm but will take a look when i get home.

Just checked and from when i bought it until it's best before it had 10 months left on it.

I've emailed them a few times and never had a reply.

Asda did sell it at one point

So if requested may sell it again, there's a Wilkes that's opened up near me and sells beer findings and wine yeast BUT no beer yeast - I have told them I want it and will each time I go there, ifney stock it I won't have to go to the wilco acts further away

If you don't ask you don't get

So if requested may sell it again,

My posts from the first page here -

ASDA have contacted me and explained they stock on demand and apparently in some areas demand is so low they have stopped stocking it, she said she will bring this matter to the buyers attention in our area and we should see it on the shelves again, if you cannot get hold of it in your local ASDA give them a call.

It was never stocked again.

I hope you get a better response than i did, i contacted Tesco and ASDA one said they only keep stocking stores that are selling enough to make it worth while the other said they are not stocking it.

A centralised consortium or cooperative might be the way to go...... The HBF consortium ;) Place your orders here? If Chewie got 24 litres for £30 that is a viable saving over £1.75 from Ocado.... If we bought collectively this could be £1/l ? I am from 'up norf' = tight!!

Helpful? How, do share? :)

Apologies. As you will see from my typing I posted late yesterday and after trying some of the goods! Here is the email response I got having comoleted the contact question form on their website. I did reply with thanks but also pointing out that Ocado do NOT stock it as suggested. Regards...............
