I noticed last week that pomegranates at our local greengrocer were 99p each (think they were nearer 75p last year). 10 needed for a batch of wine.

On passing today, saw that the remainder were 3 for a £ - hurrah!

10 pomegranates
3lb sugar
2 tsp citric acid
1/2lb pearl barley, boiled in a gallon of water for 5 mins

Strain boiling liquid over first 3 ingredients, leave to cool.

Add yeast nutrient and yeast, ferment on the pulp for 5 days

Strain into DJ and ferment out.

This was one of my Absolute Favourites last year. Good colour, good flavour.
