I've had a bit of a disaster today I used a measuring spoon which I thought said 1/2 tsp but actually said 1/2 tbsp thus put 3/4 tbsp per bottle of sugar in. I know I should have put my glasses on. So 5l turbo cider and 8l speckled hen in danger of exploding me thinks. I was wondering if it would be possible to pour it back into the fermenter to ferment out the excess sugar and start again 🤔

If you are going to transfer back into a fermenter (demijohns?) then I would suggest using a syphon to minimise oxygenation rather than pouring.

Have you used glass bottles with caps? If it's plastic PET bottles with screw tops then you could perhaps loosen the caps to relieve some pressure.

Thanks I've a few testers in pet bottles but the rest are glass I think maybe I'll keep an eye on the pet ones and when the pressure gets high maybe re cap the glass one's. Thanks for the pointer.
