Hi all

Festival 40 Pint Home Brew Beer Kit - New Zealand Pilsner

Relative newbie here, brewed about 7 batches since lockdown and just got a bad one. Second time I brewed this one, first time was fine but this time it is very bitter and has an old grassy flavour. From reading about this issue says could be due to hopping too long, but only dry hopped for 2 days. Also bought the 2 kits at the same time so would hope they are the same batch

Normal process is FV for 3 weeks @ 19C until steady gravity, dry hop for 2 days in bag then remove, crash chill for 2 days @ 1c to clear then corny keg and force carb. Been in the keg for 4 weeks now and no change, the bottles also taste the same :(

Any help would be great, not looking forward to ditching 40 pints!

Rob

Two days dry hop is quite short for some, including me, but even so comments elsewhere about grassy flavours from a dry hop seem to be associated with periods longer than 7 days.
But it could be that the two kits were from different batches which might be the cause.
Otherwise why not talk to Ritchies and and see what they say?
Finally here's the forum kit review
