Ha.. sorry, I'm meant porter - I've never entered a beer with extra ingredients in a comp so wasn't sure if it'd go in the 'Spice, Herb, or Vegetable Beer' or a similar speciality category.
I'm not sure either having never entered a competition before. I'll just have to wait and see what happens

Ah, I completely forgot about this. I registered but haven't paid but there's no way I'll get it posted over to them by Monday.

What has everyone entered? I’ve entered a Saison and a Dubbel.

The Dubbel still needs more conditioning IMO, but the saison is one of the best beers I’ve made - I’m just concerned it might not fully conform to style (no wheat in it and I used citra as the single hop).

I stuck with my original plan and entered an ordinary bitter & an AIPA - both new comp styles for me so it'll be very interesting to hear what the judges think.

Sent my entries on Tuesday of last week via Parcelforce, were meant to be there by Thursday but still haven't arrived.

Have had the absolute run-around off Parcelforce and given various explanations. First they thought the address was recorded incorrectly but the last I've heard the parcel's ended up at the Newport depot badly damaged by something leaking out from the inside (despite my best efforts to package well and seal the box with a bag).

Anyway, Parcelforce have said they'll deliver the package today. Fingers crossed only one of the bottles have broken and the rest of my entries will be salvageable.

That's annoying - fingers crossed for you its just the one broken bottle.
I know mine arrived on Friday, but I've got no idea if they survived the journey :?:

I logged in on my work PC at lunchtime and my entry is showing as received. The full table doesn’t show on mobile.

I've been stupid busy recently with non-brewing stuff, but still managed to get some beers sent off for this one. I'm looking forward to getting feedback on an 18 month old RIS and the Triple I did in January, both of which I'm pleased with. I also sent off a sweet stout I made back in January. It was lovely in March but seems to have gained some black treacle taste and slightly too much carbonation after sitting in the shed over the hot summer so comments on that will be interesting. I've also sent off a BIPA and coconut IPA that also spent summer in the shed and are well past their prime in terms of hop aroma, but the BIPA has a good malt base and bitter bite that harks back to the old-school American IPAs before all the hop additions were moved to the end of the boil and the fv, and the coconut IPA has a subtle coconut taste which I quite enjoy lurking behind the now well-conditioned pale ale.

They’ve put some of the prizes up on the Facebook page. The winner of each category gets a bag of hops. Other prizes include a gift pack from Lithic Brewing; 1kg of Jester hops from Charles Faram; Spieglau glasses; Brew UK vouchers.

Update on this.

Driver refused to delivery the parcel for health and safety reasons. Apparently as they could hear smashed glass inside, Parcelforce are at risk of a legal action should the recipient injure themselves on the contents. So I asked Parcelforce to returned the parcel to me. They looked inside to see what was salvageable and told me everything is smashed so they're going to dispose of it. What a farce!

Anyway, resent my entries the other day via a different courier and should be arriving at Mad Dog today... hopefully.

Good luck to all who entered!

+ Brew Con tickets and some Cryogenic hops from Arcadian Brewing in Cardiff

Its cool that there's some prizes up for grabs - not sure what I'd do with 1Kg of Jester though :laugh8:aunsure....:laugh8:

You’ll get your scores if you log in, but no feedback yet. I got an unsurprising 21 for my Dubbel (I still don’t think it’s ready) and 28 for my saison ( which is slightly disappointing although I don’t think it completely conformed to style so might explain it).

I’ll have more time next year so will get my Cali Common and house APA entered which I’d expect to both score much better.

My imperial stout scored 33 which I’m pretty happy with, will wait for the feedback. Congrats to @dan125 whose name appears everywhere on the medalists page
