Drinking tonight my Best Bitter, score of 42 in the comp didn't pick up a prize but happy with the score card.

Now the curve ball, my English Brown Ale never did clear, was over carbonated, was first in the English Brown, got beat by two American Brown's just opened one, had to pour into a jug, did lose points for being, 'to boozy' I do admit it is strong. Puts me to bed early, actually most beers put me to bed early.

A warning to those trying to carbonate their beers before time, over carbonation strips esters, hops and malt flavours.

punk which i seem to be getting a little tired of.
taste buds need a little stirring up.
next up to be brewed is a stout which will be seeing rather a lot of dark spraymalt (and maybe some whisky). that may do it.

First try of the Czech pilsner
Not sure, too much body for a true pilsner. On the sweet side with a high final gravity. Probably my own fault, maybe I rushed it to much. No of flavours just not the crisp finish it should have. I am going to have to try brewing this one again.

I’m trying a Schwartz bier next from Time&Tide. Another new experience for me because I’ve never had a Schwartzbier. The problem is that because I’ve not had one before I have no idea if this is representative of a good one. It tastes like a stout I guess but without the body.
