Still in Wales so it's good to support a local(ish) brewery. It's bottle conditioned and has a bit of chill haze after coming out of the shed an hour ago but nice and traditional. Oh and the bottle has a lovely laminated label so has a long life ahead as a receptacle for my own efforts!

Thought I'd see in the new year with a couple of so of local commercial brews. Disappointed as the main feature is bitterness, no hop flavours. So ened back on domestic production Lovebrewing Redneck. Changed positively in the week, none hoppy.

Tonight, Mathew, I am revisiting Woodfords Tinsel, which did absolutely nothing for me pre Christmas, however it has improved for a bit of aging. Would still like it to have something Christmasy about it - spice or citrus, but hasn't left me as underwhelmed as first time around.

Wet and windy in Wales too and starting with a weak one. Not scintillating but subtly malty and 30 years on I can now see exactly why my late father in law used to ask me to bring his (malty)

beer in out of the garage in winter 40 minutes before he drank it. At room temp it has a taste!
