Stayed good to the end as well. Just needs time for the hops and malt to balance out.

Just a half of this Chevallier first gold smash. 144 ibu’s not long in the keg but carbed nicely. Lovely first taste then the bitterness hits. Not unpleasant at all and it’s drinkable already. But a few weeks will do no harm. Might have some more of this if my tastebuds can cope

It’s a copy of a recipe from the 1800’s and has 360g first gold in it. It was less than called for at 420g lol. The Chevallier malt can handle the high hopping and it’s a lingering bitterness at the min but should mellow it’s only kegged a week and already clearing

Not touched this keg of First Gold IPA for a week or so, slightly over carbed but delicious none the less.
Caramel sweetness from Cara malt with orangey bitterness from hops ( Admiral for bittering ).
Nice sat in the shed with sun coming through the window after a hard week's work !
