DSC_1985.JPG DSC_1986.JPG Early new years resolution for me. No drinking on a school night, so these taste so much better after a week at work. A cloudwater dipa ting, a chocolate orange impy from wander beyond and an abbeydale Baltic porter. DSC_1983.JPG

Cali Common. Only 4 weeks old and really nice.

Impressed with the cml Cali common yeast. Dropped crystal clear after two day’s conditioning.

@Chippy_Tea - I suggest stigman is barred from this thread, I'm sure he's making a lot of forum members jealous with his delicious selection he always manages to procure :laugh8:

Bottle of Butty Bach while cooking tea, now off to a do in the village hall that will probably be cans of cooking lager. But it's for charity, so fair dos.

Another lovely Belgian Blonde tonight, this one is a lot like my Westy Blond clone attempt which I see as a good sign.

A kolsh made with cascade and columbus which is almost 4 months old. All the nice hop brightness has gone and it tastes like fag ash. It's a fairly decent shandy.

HB Belgian Tripel/Trjple/Trippel. I'm not difficult to please and this one worked out okay. It dried out a bit too much from the MJ-41 (great and powerful yeast) so I'll have to be mindful next time. This beer was supposed to taste like a local Belgian that I love but ended up being far closer to a Westmalle. If I'm going to make a big mistake like I had, it's about the best one I could make. This beer would be more appealing if it were clearer but, personally, that would be too much extra work which doesn't affect the flavor. Funnily enough, it's a dead ringer for the NEIPAs (or cloudy IPAs or whatever they're called here) that are really, really popular right now--at least on the US sister site. Edit: I forgot to say this is the 13.6% ABV. I was shooting for 11% ABV.

I actually know what that means! I've been hanging around here too long.

I thought you guys liked muted carbonation? I may have you confused with someone else though.
As one of our regulars says in his signature on the sister site: "I've been drinking."

Kwak? I guess I could Google it along with the g to oz, Kg to pounds, etc.
A picture is worth a thousand words. I just came up with that. Brilliant.

guessing imperial stout. My Belgian quad has a pleasing brown head which was a nice surprise the first time I made it.

First time trying NEIPA. This is from a brewery just across the Border in Co. Donegal. I was expecting more flavour but this still has a nice kick to it.

I went into the Offie looking for that tonight but they had none so went with this instead. Loved their Scraggy Bay.

I just had a Hobgoblin Gold. It is one of the most vile beers I've ever had. It's like carbonated golden syrup. It is an awful, lingering, pestilent, sickly mawkish bottled horror. It's like my mouth was raped by toffee apples but the apples shied away because they didn't want to provide some acidic balance. It's absolutely diabolically awful. I've just been through a few of my homebrews that I thought weren't that great but they're like leviathans compared to this diabetic filth.

    I didn't like it.
