Following on from jjsh, I'm drinking a bottle of my Batemans Victory Ale clone (also GW). The first bottle I tried last week seemed nice, but this one had a slight 'pear drops' aroma / flavour. A skim of my books and google suggests that the likely cause is insufficient yeast and yes I used 1 pack of CML Real Ale, for 23L of 6.5% beer, less than the recommended amount.

It's always disappointing when all that work leads to something less than you had hoped, but if you learn an important lesson from it, it lessens the blow, after all, it is still drinkable.

Had some nice fruity offerings in the sun yesterday. Both absolutely spot on. Sharknado blood orange and sea salt ipa. And a Raspberry saison by kernal.

My version of a malty bitter. Used some pale malt because that's all I had and home grown EKG's. Then a handful of Fuggles into the keg last week, for drinking this week. Not what I imagined, but OK. Seems to get better as the pints get poured. Or maybe I'm becoming immune.

My version of a Belgian Summer Saison from last year. Bit lively, but pleasant enough. Probably better than it was last summer, but I can't remember now....

Out for tea...TT Landlord,Rudgate mango in the night..mango and citra pale...plenty of citra. ..no mango! Plus another that escapes me but was called red-brown ale which was quite nice. If was wheatwood brewery....

Marlon's Pride with late addition Fuggles (added to the keg 2 weeks ago).
It was meant to be a copy of London Pride but I used the wrong grains. Tasted similar but very pale. So adding late hops turned it into a pale/IPA style.... (sort of)...

Pleasantly warm evening after a long day at work, perfect conditions for a refreshing turbo cider

Maisel's Meine Helle Weisse

Not normally a big wheat beer drinker, but got this as part of a Beer Hawk mystery case. Rather pleasant.
