my second evil dog double IPA attempt.
shortfilled to 19L and 500g of brewer's sugar added to the LME.
OG seems only to be 1.068. i was hoping for/expecting higher.

Have you give it a good thrashing? Sometimes it doesn't mix in properly.
it did receive a fair thrashing plus pouring the top up water from a great height.
sure it'll be fine (and i've already got plenty hairs on my chest!).
it'll be getting bottled properly this time at least.

thinking about adding a litre of 100% grapefruit juice to this one. anyone have any thoughts? it'll only be 77g of sugar but might give me that elvis juice vibe.
edit:
i may give it a miss now that i've thought about it some more. don't want to totally gub it.
edit 2:
not known for my common sense.

dog growls
I used to do an early morning paper route (up at 4:30am) when I was a kid. I swear, the random dog, no matter the size, that would sneak up on me and bark would scare me half to death. If I wasn't fully awake before then, I was afterward.
Also walking headlong into a full-blown spider web as I walked up a porch between two bushes was something I could have done without.

Belgian imperial stout
3kg maris otter
2kg light Munich
500g medium crystal
300g chocolate rye
200g special W
200g carafa 3
300g porridge oats
200g flaked barley
20g magnum@60mins
30g Chinook@5mins
30g Chinook flame out

I might need to give it a slight bump with sugar. I am looking 15 litres and 1.090. mash temp 63.

Yeast WLP530

Today it's a second batch of Hazelwood Brewery best bitter.
This time I'm using Maris otter and I have some dark crystal. I've slightly increased the flaked barley as it's was the last of it...but it's only 50g or so and increased the torrified wheat a bit too.
Yeast...this time I've swapped from Notty to MJ liberty bell..
