Didn't brew it today but have brewed a low abv NEIPA and english bitter for a homebrew swap thats coming up.
Kegged a Lemon Lager and an American Pilsner over the weekend.

I'm in quite an active homebrew club, but we all live in a rural area so have to drive if we meet up.

Before Christmas we had a bottle swap and did a zoom call every Thursday, to talk caca about beer.
Tremendous craic!!!
Would recommend as it cuts out any issues with driving, etc.

We're planning the same with low ABV beers in the coming weeks.

Sounds good craic, pity about the language barrier or I would offer to join in 😉
I just can't see a load of tractor boys understanding a Derry man with a load of pints in him 😂😂

No worse than a bog hopper from Meath talking verbal diarrhoea after three Imperial stouts.

Today I made one of clibit's famous mini-brews (only 5 litres) in my shiny new stock-pot. :D I was a bit concerned about mashing efficiency, and went a bit longer than an hour, but no worries: 1047 on 5 litres = approx 72%. so all looks good.

Yesterday I bottled my previous brew, an ESB. This finished a little higher than predicted which with
a lower OG ( but larger volume ) means an ABV of 5% so not as strong as planned but tasted very good all the same.

Then made my fourth all grain batch, this time an English IPA using just EKG.
Using my gas stove again, with both rings I got to mash temp in a quicker 38 mins this time,
then took just 19 mins to reach boiling after the mash.

English IPA
Batch size 11L
Total water 15.6L
OG 1.054 FG 1.013
ABV 5.4%
IBU 45
EBC 18.1
BU/GU 84

mash 65c 75mins

Malt
2500 gm Maris otter Ale
270 gm Cara
60 gm Extra Dark Crystal

Hops
30 gm EKG 60 mins
15 gm EKG 10 mins
10 gm EKG 30 mins hopstand at 80c

20 gm EKG 3 days dry hop

OG and volume were as predicted by brewfather ( BIAB no sparge ).
Cooled with my wort chiller for first time, took about 20 mins, then pitched NBS Ale yeast at 19c.
Got a nice krausen this morning but noticeably less airlock activity with a smaller batch, also my fv's are getting less
airtight with more frequent brewing I think.

Just on with my 2nd no boil wheat beer.

1kg pilsner, 1kg wheat, 100g acid

10g magnum boiled for approx 12mins to give approx 12 ibu.

Will give 6l to go in the pinter system and pitch with mj m20 slurry from previous no boil wheat.

Will give this one 1 week ferment and 1 week conditioning after the sucess of same schedule on a helles.

Just finished my first all grain The boy Taylor from malt Miller using shiny new grainfather all went pretty well apart from the silicone gasket partly coming off when doughing in i don't think it made any difference. Ended up with 22l at sg 1050. Great experience looking forward to next weekend to get another on.

I brewed this back in January and it was superb

23L of American IPA

4.5kg Pale malt (MO)
500g Carapils
Mash 60 minutes @ 65°C
Mash out 10 mins @ 75°C
30g Chinook @ start of boil
15g Chinook and 15g Citra @ 10 mins
44g Chinook and 44g of Citra @ turn off
Verdant IPA yeast pitched @ 20°C

OG 1.048

Bottled my first all grain brew - a mighty nine bottles of GW's Summer Lightning clone as a Clibit stove top mini-brew.

Second half of the brewpaks Fixby Gold for a yeast comparison: anonymous silver packet from the kit versus Liberty Bell.

Then using up some DME with 9.5 litres of GW's Old Peculiar, started off with a mini-mash:

Mini mash:
100g Golden Promise
100g Crystal Malt
75g Chocolate Malt

Boil:
1250g DME
90 minutes: 10g Challenger & 5g Fuggles
10 minutes: 5g Goldings

Yeast: MJ New world strong ale yeast
Dry hop: Styrian Goldings

57p invested in three packets of parsnips this morning! My quest for the perfect parsnip stout is nearly complete!

But they may have to wait till tomorrow. Still have half a batch of bitter to finish bottling.

Every time I open this thread, it gives me so many ideas...

Actually I could quite imagine that roasted parsnips would go very well in a stout, much as roasted pumpkin goes in a pumpkin ale.
