Hi all

In your opinion, what would you say is the best Hydrometer out there, the traditional glass bobber or the prisms versions or the sucker ones like the turkey baster to explain it lol ?

I pretty much understand they do the same job, however which is better for easy reading, accuracy etc.

Nothing wrong with the £3 Stevenson and Reeves hydrometers.

I use an £8 Chinese refractometer for quick and easy measurements during brew day. I periodically check it against my hydrometer and it's always spot on. Nearly a year in and not so much as a calibration required.

So why not do what I've done and get both for just over a tenner:laugh8:

Get one with a gravity scale on it and nothing else. The multi scale ones are frustrating if you're taking a reading directly in the fermenter and the gravity scale will always face away from you.
