This worked out really nice, so posting it on here. Bit of a use-up brew to get rid of some old grains and hops, plus didn't have time for an AG brew so it was a quick substitute brew to replenish stocks.
- 1.5kg tin Wilko Cerveza
- 1kg Muntons Brew Enhancer
- 225g Caramalt
- 25g Caraamber
- 68g Hallertau Hops
- Brew short to 19L - OG1047
- Steep the Cara grains in a few litres of water below 70C for 30mins.
- Quantities are not crucial, I added some caraamber as I had some lying around
- Strain the liquid into a stock pot, and top up to about 6-8 litres with boiling water
- Dissolve the Brew Enhancer and bring to the boil
- Add 18g Hallertau and boil for 15min - adds a little bitterness to the kit
- Turn off heat, wait 10mins, then add the remaining 50g Hallertau and steep for 30mins
- Strain into an FV and top up to 19L with cold water, maybe add a some ice to get the temp down
- When around 20C, pitch the kit yeast and off it'll go (it's an ale yeast so OK around 20C)
