The pyramid builders used fairly simple machines (levers and rollers) and the work was labour intensive. A barley based brew would have been cheap, fairly hydrating and reasonably nutritious. As the workforce must have been the size of a small army, the amounts suggested seem fairly credible.

No Star San then, and they were a long way from understanding fermentation in a theoretical sense. Still made beer.

Ive been to Egypt, it’s a tad warm. I reckon a belgian yeast was used.....
