I've recently embarked on a voyage of discovery .... yeasts
i've always thought of yeasts as the real experts and us brewers their guardians. Content that they know what they are doing i have pretty much just bought and used general purpose yeasts. However on a recent trip to a homebrew shop i asked for advice and picked up a variety of yeasts. Since then i have done a fair bit of surfing online for info.
So here's one nice page i found. Its all text, and its longish, but the style is interesting, there's humour, history, science etc etc all in laymans speak, and i found it a cracking good starting point. One word of warning tho, if you are a complete beginner to brewing this could make you feel a little daunted about your chances of ever making a decent drop of plonk - don't be daunted tho.
