I pitched liquid British Ale II Wyeast 1335 a few days ago (at 19 degrees). Only 2-3 days after I found the packaging in the thrash to check the manufacture date and it was 13 Nov 2018 which could explain why the fermentation had not kicked off.

Ordered two packets of dry SafAle S-04 which should come in today. It's a pretty dark stout with OG is 1.055, with the efficiency of around 80%. I am going to make a dextrose-based starter.

My question is the following:
1. Should I aerate the wort again? (meaning, shake the hell out of it for about 10 minutes)
2. This is already getting quite dangerous and I am just trying to save the wort I brewed. It's been 5 days since the brew day - but are there any other pieces of advice you care to share in regard to this repitching process?

There was a study done by Fermentis and their yeast don't need aeration or hydration - they work same with or without.

I would just pitch it and let ti work, see what happens. Have you kept it sealed?

Yes, I have kept it sealed. No funny smells so far, and I put a lot of attention to sanitation.

The 2 packets have now arrived and I'm going to pitch them in a few minutes directly to the fermentor.

Thank you for the advice. I think I will skip on additional shaking and see what the yeast can do on their own.
