There's a 35 year old recipe for Youngs Special Bitter in David Lines book 'Brewing Beers like Those You Buy', which apparently comes in at an OG of 1.047. You might be able to do better than that though since things have moved on since the 1980s. But if you are interested PM me.
I did the g wheeler extract version of youngs special from the book and it was excellent. The dry hop made all the difference.
There's a reciepe in Graham Wheelers Brew your own british real ale (PM me for the reciepe if your interested). What will will really make a difference though is using the Youngs yeast. You can get this out of a bottle of Youngs bitter. Culture it up using this guide here https://www.thehomebrewforum.co.uk/...up-yeast-from-bottle-conditioned-beers.53567/
