Hi all
Anybody had any issues with the lids on the Youngs fvs breaking?
My 33l has had some service admittedly but all of a sudden the outside edge has snapped away. Still using it but obviously aware that it is not totally sealed. Considerable googling managed to source a supplier that will do the lids on their own. Brewer's Droop. Order placed and not yet arrived so cannot fully recommend just yet but hey - even with postage, a couple of lids works out cheaper than the alternative option of complete new bucket etc.

In cold weather almost all plastics will snap rather than bend!

If you are worried about the gap in your current FV then I suggest that a layer of Cling Film either inside or outside of the lid will prevent any nasties from entering. A number of Forum Members don't bother with an airlock or bubble tube. They just stretch Cling Film across the top of the FV and rest the lid on top. :thumb:
