Started this off over the weekend. Looking forward to trying it after reading the reviews. My 4 year old loves watching the air lock.
I will have to get another one on the go just to keep her quiet.
I let my wine sit in a secondary for two or three weeks and also use finings.
I have never had problems getting wines to clear (just lucky i guess) then run the whole 5 gallons through the filter.
I have been reading the forum for a while and thought it was about time I started posting.
My history in brewing has mainly been with wine. But as my wife has started drinking Pear cider (refreshing after a hard day in work) I have taken the plunge and got my hands on an On the rocks Pear...
I recently made a 5 gallon batch of WOW.
I have to say how impressed I am with the results. I followed Wurzle's recipe as it look an easy beginners wine.
Since then I have brewed a Gallon of Apple and Grape and a further 5 Gallons of Grape Apple and Raspberry.
The one thing that has surprised...
Just a quick question regarding yeasts. I have recently made 5 gallons of WOW using Youngs Super Wine Yeast that turned out fine  . My question is what would be the results be of using a different or more specific yeast?
Sorry if this has been covered before.
My WOW looked the same. Racked it and added Finings let it do it's thing. Filtered and bottled. Looks amazingly like Wine (a great result for me) This was my first attempt at any form of wine and have to say it tasted good. Just need to keep my hands off it so it can age...
