    Courage Directors kit.

Yeah, i think ill leave mine the same. I cant imagine their instructions will add anything flavour wise, and increases the risk of infection in this heat lol Sent from my SM-T810 using Tapatalk

    Oxiclean!?!!!

What is the best sanitiser to use with 5L kegs, in terms of not reacting with metal? I bought a small amount of starsan for the first time, and im not sure if it is supposed to smell metallic when using or if it reacted with the metal in some way.

    Courage Directors kit.

I know this is an old thread, but did you guys follow the instructions with this kit? The instructions suggest moving out of the primary into a secondary with brewing sugar after just five days, and leave in the secondary for a further 3. It then says to bottle / keg as you normally would...

    Beer gas

I tried the N2o gas bulbs on a coopers stout once, but the head was about the same as a standard gas bulb. Leaving the beer to condition longer gives a better head IMO

    Better Brew Bandit Brew.

That's good to hear (not just my taste buds being out of kilter then ). I did try one brew with bottled water from the local asda at one point, but couldnt taste the difference at all. (atom beers tour is on my list of things to do :thumb: - they do a mean IPA)

    Better Brew Bandit Brew.

I know this post was back in 2014 (just reading it as I've put one of the bandits in the fermenter :thumb: ), but I'm intrigued about the need for using campden tablets to treat the water prior to brewing. I live the other side of the Humber in Hull, and the water is reported as 'very hard' by...

    Mini Keg Start kit Q's

Purchase made :) I have 6 of the 5ltr kegs; 2 with a choclate stout, 2 with a kit ipa, and 2 with a kit scottish export. I also got the brewferm party tap. The bungs are genius! I can also tell that the kegs are carbonating as I accidently pressed the inner of the bung some way in when fitting...

    Mini Keg Start kit Q's

Hi Guys n Gals, After bottling for years, and having mixed results with a couple of wilko pressure kegs, i'm really interested in trying these mini keg starter kits; http://www.brewuk.co.uk/mini-keg-starter-kit.html#review-point Using these - would be great as I can chill the whole keg...

    Victor cider kits

I just bought one of these kits from my local Wilko's after going in for something completely different (usual case for me). It's a box containing everything required to make the cider and boasts that it will be ready in 48hours! Has anyone had any experience of these, and what yeast would they...

    Finings before secondary fermentation

Thanks for the info. I may struggle with a secondary vessel, as I took it upon myself to use all three of my vessels at once for starting different brews (stocking up for Late summer). I will give your instructions a go on my next brewathon ;)

    Finings before secondary fermentation

Thanks for the info. All the brews I have done so far have tasted great. I may try finings on my next brew out of curiosity. My problem is that I have trouble waiting too long before demolishing the batch ;)

    Finings before secondary fermentation

Hi all, I have been well and truly bitten by the brew bug, and have lost count how many kits I have done. All have turned out well (in terms of taste anyway), but I was thinking about using finings to get the end result clearer (some have turned out fairly clear and others not so). Im...

    Hi all

Hey all, I'm a brewing newbie that started out on my quest for homebrew after my wife bought me a Coopers starter kit. The kit was based around their own Lager, and as a first attempt hasn't turned out too bad though I did make a couple of schoolboy errors on the way. I'm now in the process of...
