Anyone know of a good beer store in London Docklands?

Hey guys! I just moved to London Docklands - near Canary Wharf. I've found a real nice pub (The gun) which has some decent ales but Im really struggling to find a shop with a good range of beers. Maybe I was spoilt in Bristol with choice but there must be somewhere around that has some local...

    Bath Ales

I just moved back to london after spending a year in Bristol. Man I miss Bath ales! If any of you make the trip into Bristol then I highly suggest popping in to Zero Degrees which is right by the christmas steps. Its a great brewery in a good position (tasty pizzas too!). I just ordered a few...

Dumb question about my first bitter kit

Hey guys, so I let it settle for a week. No change at all. I put some finings in and 4 days later it still looks the same. Am I supposed to syphon from the bottom? The bitties seem to be floating near the top

Dumb question about my first bitter kit

Hey guys, Im just over a week through my first dark bitter kit (Norfolk NOG) which is my second kit overall. Basically, it seems like the sediment is all at the top- It has bitties which I guess are yeast casings floating at the top (small brown flakes). Its at the right gravity to bottle. Am I...

Any kits like Baths Ale's Barnstormer?

Hey guys, I would like to make a dark bitter similar to Bath Ale's Barnstormer. Im looking for a beer kit not an AG as it will be my second brew. On the Barnstormer bottles it briefly mentions the ingredients; Maris Otter, chocolate and crystal malts with bramling cross hops. Can anyone...

    Glass vs plastic

I just nip to the local and they let me have a rummage through their recycling. Stay away from Addlestons though as those labels are cemented on or something! I just stick all the bottles in the bath with hot water and let them soak for 10 minutes or so, the labels usually just float off at...

    root beer

Awesome idea! Im a big fan of root beer and could definately picture myself getting good and drunk from it! I would have thought that you'd have to stick to the original recipe to get it to the point that people can taste it and say its root beer

Thanks guys, I moved it all into a warmer room that has a pretty consistant temperature and gave it a gentle but good stir

I think My lager has stopped fermenting too early

Hi, thanks for the quick reply. My meter is showing 1.020 I didn't take a reading at the start before fermentation (didn't realise I should have at the time)

    Hey guys!

Awesome Forum! My name is Dave, Im 25 and just moved to Bristol from London. Im a self employed guitar maker and music fan. I always wanted to try brewing my own ales and lagers and since finding the Brewer's droop in Bristol and realising that the west country love their cider too much, I...

I think My lager has stopped fermenting too early

Hey guys, This is my first post and Im new to the whole home brewing world. I apologise in advance if this question gets asked all the time. I started a 40 pint lager kit 12 days ago, it started off fermenting fine. I read the Papazian book and everything seemed to be doing what it should have...
