So I wanted to get a start on my second batch 'make more then you can drink' so to speak. Used an Aldi brand still spring water £1 for 4x2L bottles £8 from Wilkos. Nothing amazing method wise, just followed the tin again. Ronseal style.

It's not much but here's my newbie 'stash' well.. it's more of a shopping haul before I started my second batch today. Spent a little more in Wilkos then SWMBO would have liked but then again I convinced her with promises of rose :thumb:

It seems to have stopped fermenting. Virtually no airlock activity now. I would go buy a second DJ for 'racking' but I'm due to add stuff tomorrow and I don't have time to go buy one till the weekend. I like your wording on the dead yeasties Snokrystal. Think I might take a few sips silence for...

So I'm adding the rest and 'degassing' this Wednesday. What is a good way to degas? Also I noticed there's a layer of white/grey sediment on the bottom of the DJ. Sugar? is that normal?

Welcome to the forum :thumb: I too am a fellow newbie and as I've been warned, cheap booze is all well and good but the hobby can get impulsively more expensive. I have a DJ on the go and just want to go and get more!

For 2,200 beer tokens I'd like to think it is. But then again I guess there is a difference between the 500 and 2.2k builds. 12 weeks to build, they must put some serious manpower into it.
