Which dry hops? dry, pellets, oil, extract! when and how?

We went for under carbonation, as I find it a lot easier to drink when it has minimal fizz. I added 95 grams to a 21 litre batch, hoping it will go down very nice. Tasted pretty good when it was going in to the bottles, managed to drink about a pint while I was bottling. Maybe a little to...

Which dry hops? dry, pellets, oil, extract! when and how?

Sorry I did not reply, in the end I went for the Citra hops and a coppers IPA, made a hop tea 25 grams and a 10min boil. Tasted great went it went in the bottles so I am very keen to get a taste of this.

    Please tell me...

I'm fairly new to this only made 5 batches so I would have done 100 bottles this way. (I'm using 1 litre lemonade bottles). I don't do any thing very precise or consistent but I have not had a bad bottle yet. The way I see it none of the bottles are going to be dirty as they all had a clean...

Which dry hops? dry, pellets, oil, extract! when and how?

Not a fan of the Jalapeños so I think ill steer clear of that but it is very interesting to hear that pretty much anything can be added. If I was to add limes to the batch how would this be done, how do I know that they are sterile before adding to my brew? When would I add them? Back to the...

Which dry hops? dry, pellets, oil, extract! when and how?

Thanks for the responses, I'm trying to get a more zesty lime taste taste into it. Ill take a look at the hop union and figure out what would be best for me. I have also read a little about making a hop tea to add to the brew at the beginning, what are the advantages of this over dry hoping...

Which dry hops? dry, pellets, oil, extract! when and how?

Bit of a newbie but trying to improve my brew, I'm at uni so all of my friends are looking to make cheap beer but I'm trying to make it good! Currently on my 5th brew which I have just transferred to the secondary after 14 days (my first time in a secondary hope its goes well) the beer is a...

Bottling Wilko Cerveza how much sugar?

That would make it a a lot easier, what weight does a tea spoon of sugar work out as? Never transferred to a bottling bucket before but I have read that you need to be careful to to purge it with oxygen, how can I prevent this and what happens if I do?

Bottling Wilko Cerveza how much sugar?

Problem with using tea spoons is I never get a consistent amount on the spoon and never know how high to scoop them. I was was thinking about using one of those semi-spherical coffee style scoops or just weight it down to a few grams to give a consistent brew.

Bottling Wilko Cerveza how much sugar?

I will be bottling my Wilko Cerveza tomorrow, how much sugar should I add to the bottling bucket per litre? I have never used the method of racking to a bottling bucket to add the sugar, I normally just add the sugar but I am fed up of every bottle being different. What should I be...

Taste, quality and strength verying across my batch.

I have been leaving the caps resting on top of the bottles for around 15 min before tightening as I read that this will let the bottles fill with CO2 before closing.

Taste, quality and strength verying across my batch.

Currently I have been spooning the priming sugar into my bottles and the syphoning the brew into the bottles and giving a gentle shake to mix the sugar in before leaving for a few weeks. Should I be giving the brew a stir before bottling to ensure that the brew is consistent throughout. If...

Will 5ltr water bottles hold the pressure of an ale

Will 5ltr water bottles hold the pressure of an ale

Dint think the cap would hold the pressure, might try it with one bottles when I next brew. The plan was to syphon it out throughout the night to avoid the bottom getting stirred up, I do want to get the keg but being at uni I normally go to someone else house to drink so carrying a keg is a...

Will 5ltr water bottles hold the pressure of an ale

Don't want to buy a keg as it seems fairly expensive once I'v brought all the co2 kit. I think me and a few mates could polish of the 5ltr bottle in one sitting so it wont be open and flat all week. Just not sure if this kind of bottle with a large course thread would hold the pressure.

    Kegging an IPA

Fairly new to all this home brewing, seems like a lot of work buying/cleaning all these bottles so I would like to keg my next batch. Currently have a Young's American IPA in the Fermenter, an I plan to keg it this time. Do I just add the priming sugar and syphon the beer in and leave it...
