    Fiery Ginger Beer

Yeah the champers yeast can really eat through all the sugar. Next time I do this I'm going with an ale or Saison yeast and using a standard FV.

    Fiery Ginger Beer

So in hindsight I shouldn't have blended up the fruit - blocked up the conical fermenter, hopefully most of the solids will drop out otherwise Im going to be picking bits out of my teeth. How long did this take to finish up for people using wine/champagne yeast ? Im going to consider some...

    Fiery Ginger Beer

Thanks for this. I've got around 5 gallons of bottled water ready, I'll make the switch with oranges and go with wine yeast. Going to pick up some spray malt too plus I've got a jar of golden syrup I'm going to sling in too

    Wilko Wheat Beer

Brewed a two can kit over the weekend, my first brew in over a year and my first ever using my FastFerment Conical fermenter. I was thinking of using adjuncts but settled on following the instructions for my first go in a while. It was quiet for 24hours but is now bubbling away steadily at...

    Wilko Wheat Beer

I don't see why not, I usually brew mine a couple of litres short.

    Wilko Wheat Beer

Can I ask did you just boil the zest with water then just add the liquid to the FV ? Haven't brewed for over a year now and have this kit to get back into it.

Do you have a rough idea of how much peel/coriander you used ?

    New pressure barrel from Wilkos

So If I have the large co2 canister, I'll need to use a different cap for it ? Wonder if it will take a King Keg cap.

    New pressure barrel from Wilkos

Cheers for this, my local Wilko haven't updated their stock yet but will definately get one once they are in. My current PB isn't holding pressure and has 3 gallons of Cwtch in it

    New pressure barrel from Wilkos

Not used my King Keg yet. My old barrel's neck has gone oval shaped and isn't keeping the pressure.

    New pressure barrel from Wilkos

I tend to buy the odd emergency bits and pieces from them - especially as I don't drive and P+P costs are prohibitive. I'll see if I can nip in soon and have a look at the keg 'in the flesh' as my old one has given up the ghost.
