Filtered the wine, is it ok to sit for a while?

It should be perfectly fine for a while- you dont need a bubbler any more as there should be no more gas being produced, so a plain solid bung will do. Just make sure to bottle the remainder as soon as you can because there will be plenty of air in the demi-john which is a recipe for trouble...

    Rhubarb Wine

Hi Rob I didn't know that - it was billed as being one of the nicest fruit wines and ready for drinking early which is what caught my eye. Andy

    Rhubarb Wine

Just started a Rhubarb Wine using some home grown rhubarb. I am using a recipe from John Wright - the forager bloke who hangs around with Hugh Fernley-Whittingstall off the telly. 1.5kg rhubarb 1.3kg sugar 250ml white grape juice concentrate 1 sachet general purpose white wine yeast 1 tsp...

    Coopers Ginger Beer Review

I made this last year and left it to mature. I tried a few bottles straight away, and enjoyed them - plenty of ginger flavour, and a light sparkle. Just having another as I type - much more rounded flavours now, still nice. Got 5 x 1.5L bottles of this left - I had forgotten all about them...

    Elderberries and Elderflowers

I have never made any elderflower or elderberry wines, but my local homebrew shop has these recipes on its website. My wife fancies me having a go at the champagne, but I worry about making bottle bombs :( Homemade Elderflower Champagne a good, cheap homebrew 100g elderflower heads shaken to...

    Labels

I soak for about an hour in warm water - some labels will float off by themselves, but they are far and few between. Mostly I can peel the majority of the labels off, but that leaves a sticky residue from the glue, and probably a good portion of the label too so I then use a glue-remover which...

    Cheeky Vimto advice needed

Could be- it's cheap apple juice from Asda - last time I made Cheeky Vimto I used Asda apple juice too, but it came in a different pack so maybe the contents are different now as well? I will wait until it clears and stick a gallon or so in the bottling bucket and experiment with more vimto...

    Cheeky Vimto advice needed

I have made up a 5 Gallon batch of Cheeky Vimto, but on tasting the apple taste is overpowering the vimto. I am thinking of adding a further 500ml of simmered vimto to the bottling bucket along with priming sugar to boost the flavour. What is the board's opinions on this. Has anyone else had...
