    Yeast

    I was thinking on my next starter. Instead of washing yeasts at the end of the brew I was going to make a super big starter and then take half of it and put it in the fridge. Would this work instead of washing at the end?

    So checked this today it's gone from 1066 to 1028 started on weds so that's 5 days. The krausen has died back and seems to be very little activity at all. How long would you leave it before thinking about re pitching. If you did re pitch would you use the same yeast or go for Us-05?

    I was going to take my wheat beer and remake it. This time in secondary I was going to add the juice of two pineapples. I was just wondering would you freeze the juice before you added it to kill off a few beasties?

    It's the most simple to use disinfectant that you don't have to rinse. mix it at a ratio of 1.8ml to 1l so it should last a good bit I mix and out into a sprayer so I get it to last the longest

    How insulated is your fermentator if the sensor is getting low readings from it then it will keep heating you will have to find a way of getting the sensor as close as you can.

    I was thinking of trying this porter and making a second batch and adding some vanilla and whiskey barrel to let it age was tempted to throw in some sour cherry as well. Would this porter work with this?

    Aluminium bottles

    Hi I was just wondering if the bottles that you see a lot in the states now serving bud, Miller etc would be suitable for bottle conditioning. If so does anyone know where these can be got?

    US-05 Yeast

    I find with US05 and all grain it's pretty quick leave it a bit longer to start to clean up after itself. Them I crash cool for a few days before I bottle to get it as clear as I can.
