Quick update following a chat with the helpful guys at MaltMiller and completing my next brew. I switched to the smaller pipe work setup (the “micro pipe work”) and this did the trick! TBH I am not exactly sure why! Is it something to do with faster recirculation?? I was advised to use these...
I agree. I looked at other recipes as the Grainfather app needs this value. I just plug in 35 which seems to be the average- at least for the basemalt which will drive most of the OG value.
Thanks for all the inputs. I will check the milling. Three versions of recipe Brewfather, Grainfather and what I bought! EBC are different is the only thing I noted.
I will check the temp vs the controller and already cross checked my refractometer vs hygrometer.
I also attached the Grainfather...
I am on my 60th Grainfather 30 brew and am occasionally struggling to hit Target OG at end of Mash. I suspect the grain mill as I have not changed anything else. Last night I was doing David Heath’s Mild. Target OG 1.035, I got 1.018. I have spoken to the supplier who delivered 5 grain bills...
Hi All. Finally got to bottle my Stones smoked porter today.. but had real issues getting a good transfer from the fermenting bucket to the bottling bucket. I tried the tap-tube method but was not happy with the tap to tube seal as it was sucking in air - obviously a “no no”.. Switched to my...
Having taken the plunge with cornys I just wanted to confirm the process I have in mind below having read up on various posts... corrections suggestions welcome!

2. Sanitise everything and reassemble. Leave some sanitiser in keg.
3. Beer...

Ah yes! My daughter, aka master bottlerââ¬Â, did say that she needed a certain pressure/position or the wand would not work itââ¬â¢s magic! Hopefully Gringotts will dispense me some funds to acquire a new wand!

Thanks for all the advice folks. I will try a new wand as the first option. (Diagon Ally here I come)! Then go for direct filling from tap as that may be fastest.... but probably aerates the beer too much?? Corny kegs are appealing but need a full kegerator set up etc. May be cheaper to get...
Bottle wand on tap of fermenter. Once I get to 8 litres it is dog slow. 30secs per bottle?? Tried tipping the bucket etc.
