Ok so I have never noticed this before, since I have never had need to use them, but the the clamps at the top of the boiler have no clamping hooks on them? Is this normal? I just bought a boiler extender and noticed that it has hooks which are black plastic coated. The extender is supposed to be clamped to the boiler using similar which should be on the boiler clamps but are not? I did get some cumbersome hooks with the system are these to be used in place of those fitted to other Brewzilla's I have seen?

edit
Fitted the buckles that came with the system and they seem to fit fine if a little bit bulky.

If you look at the picture you will see the extender fitted with the buckles that came with the Bz G4. What surprises me is that the Bz did not come with the type used on the extender. That is not to say that the ones I have had to fit on do not work. Anyway I am glad I have bought the extender as my last brew was way too near the rim of the standard kettle for the boil.

All googling shows that clamps being of this style

The clamps are for the reflux still tower attachment. May be out of order to post a pic on this forum.

Hey , look here, the system for whatever reason was sent to me without any buckles attached to the clamps. Those buckles you see in the picture are the only things that can be used to hold the boiler extender to the main boiler. I have thought about drilling out the rivets that holds the buckles on the top clamps of the extender and fitting them to the main boiler but it seems to be just a bit of extra work when the buckles I have fitted work

Yes that was my conclusion too but for whatever reason my Brewzilla was sent out with this type. I don't want to have to send it back for the want of something this trivial so I will go with what I have its no biggie.

I bought from brewkegtap and didn't get the buckles in the original order. They sent after a quick email no issue.

So did they send the same type as seen in the picture I posted fixed with a screw and a small nut ?

So I contacted the supplier and they are asking if there is a problem as they seem to think they are the correct fittings? As I say I don't have an issue as they work fine but they are different to the clamps I have seen in other images as has been pointed out by another poster.

I would say if your happy that they work then it's ok, if your not happy and it's not what they are advertising then you could pursue it with them.

I cannot see how it has any effect at all to the way the system operates so I am happy to use these buckles. If the seal leaks that will be another matter but I cannot see why it would.

The buckles were black and yes had a small screw and nut to fix to the unit.

I never got that type of buckle just the type shown in the photo. I could easily drill out the ends of the rivets of those fitted to the extender and do the same as you have done but there is little point really the clunky ones do the job athumb..

I remember seeing a kegland video showing the new type of buckle which were originally on the BZ 65L and are now fitted on all new BZ Gen 4’s apparently this is because they are adjustable and a greater clamping force is needed when a distillation hat or steam condenser is installed I’ll try to find the clip

Just been and checked mine and I have the black clamps but as it says in the vid @Mash Monster posted yours look like the new improved version so happy days 😁 As an aside how old is that vid? I didn't know that a new Bluetooth thermometer had been released, I have one being delivered today so hopefully it is the new one 🤞 I will have to watch the whole video when I have a bit more time

The vid is over a year old you should be good with the new version of the Bluetooth thermometer I bought mine about a month ago and it is the current new one 👍
