    Banana Wine

I made 3 gallons last year, the recipe I used did call for the bananas to be boiled for 15/20 mins. It's all been sat in the DJ's until last week when it was bottled, so you have to sample it at the time of bottling :D WOW...the swmbo won't let me anywhere near a bottle now. I've even made a...

I've had the same thought...make a small order, then you only loose a few bob. The only reason I asked was there's been a couple of dodgy sites over the years. :nono:

    Damsons at last

Well these are just about right, the OH drives past on her way to work and she checked on Thur. They are just on the turn from firm to soft, in fact some of the fruit had gone over and the wasps were having a feed. If it's been two weeks Moley since you last checked maybe it's time to have...

    Damsons at last

The elderberries are not ready around here at the moment, took a look at a couple of trees that we know too today. I like the recipe I think I'll freeze 2lbs of damsons for when the elderberries are ripe. We have blackberries in the freezer from the allotment.

    Damsons at last

We've been to our secret damson tree and picked 12 lbs. OH needs about 4lbs for jam, that will leave me 8lbs for wine. Next to the tree was a large rose full of hips. So we picked 2 lbs of those.

    hazelnut wine?

On Jack Keller's site he quotes... "Pecans, hazelnuts, peanuts, brazil nuts, cashews, pistachio nuts, and most other nuts are inappropriate for making wine because their oils go rancid before the wine is finished, but almonds and walnuts can be used in making wine". Take a look here at the...

    Blackberries.

Watch out when you use raisins...soak & wash them in hot water for 20mins...they may be treated with sulphites...and we know what that does to your yeast. Just look at the panel on the bag...I got some Sat & there it was plain to see,

    Back in the saddle.

Not been around a lot over the last 5 months, the allotment we took on back in March as taken most of our weekends up. Because of w**k we only have either Sat or Sun to do all that's needed on it, so no time to brew anything....well that's my story and I'm sticking to it. :whistle...
