    Yorkshie terrier

Hi all, it's been a while since I posted anything but I could use some advice. I bought a York Brewery Yorkshire terrier kit at the weekend. It says on the instructions to leave to ferment for 4 to 6 days. This seems a little short to me, i normally leave mine for about ten days. What would you do?

    sweeten me up baby!

i use champagne yeast for tc and ginger beer, but it always comes out too dry. What strain of yeast will keep the sweetness in, or make it even sweeter?

turbo cider recipe anyone? what is the best recipe alcotec48

ditto. Comes out very dry. Try a kit if you are after good, cheap cider. It works out alot cheaper and nicer. Try black rock new zealand cider.

    Secondary Fermentation.

Just like tubby says, keep it simple. Especially with kits and you cant go wrong. Basically; make kit, leave for 7 to10 days, bottle with half a teaspoon of sugar in bottles, leave for 2 weeks...bingo! Job done!

    My Beer Isn't Fermenting!!!

try another sachet of the same yeast. Chuck it in and it should do the trick, it cant do any harm as long as it is the same variety of yeast.

    does it really matter?

thanks guys. Consider myself well and truly educated! I now see the light and will try experimenting with different yeasts. :thumb:

    does it really matter?

no. Only in tc and ginger beer. Like i say, what difference does it make anyway?

    does it really matter?

does it really matter what yeast you use? Do different ones produce different flavours or characteristics? Essentialy they all change sugar to alcohol and not much else. I always use champagne yeast. Am i wrong or naive?

usually it is done in 7 to 9 days, but it can be left for a few weeks providing it is in an airtight fv.
