Help with corny keg, chiller and tap set up.

Hi guys. I’ve set up my Cornelius maxi 310 chiller as I think is correct ( please see pics ) and I have my keg at 10psi. I turned on the cooler for the first time around an hour ago but while waiting I poured a beer and it is coming out very slow. Even when I upped the pressure in the...

    Corny keg storage between use.

I’ve got myself a couple of corny kegs and a Cornelius chiller. My question is about storing the kegs between use. Do they need to be kept chilled for the sake of the beer or is ok that the beer just gets chilled on dispense? Or is it ok in the winter but not in the summer maybe to leave...

    Wanted. Full herms brewery.

I'm looking to upgrade and would like a full herms set up. Electric. 50 or 70 ltr would be ideal. I'd like a full three vessel set up including pumps and sparge arm etc. Before I go and buy new I thought I'd check in case anyone is selling a suitable set up. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    HERMS System

So I'm moving house soon and will have a whole garage that I'm going to convert into a bar and for brewing. I'm really interested in building a HERMS set up but there's one thing I can't quite figure out. So you eat your strike water and transfer it to your mash tun. But then when you want to...

Will my element work for upgrade?

I have 32ltr electrim boiler which I use for all grain brewing and I'm looking to move onto a 70ltr stainless steel boiler. The one I have in mind comes with a sight glass, thermometer and they will drill out for an electric element too. Will the element I have be ok to boil that amount of wort...

    Quick question.

60 minute boil. Does this mean add when 60 minutes, 10 minutes and 0 minutes of the boil to go? Or does it mean add after 0 minutes of the boil, 10 minutes of the boil and 60 minutes of the boil have passed? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Can a beer reach FG in a week?

Last Monday I brewed my first all grain beer. It's been in the fermentation fridge at 19 degrees and today I took a gravity reading and it's already at 1.012. I've never had a beer I've brewed from kit get so low so quick. It's usually two weeks. Can it really be finished fermenting. The target...

    Short of my target OG.

I've just done my first all grain brew. I'm really happy with how everything went and worked. No stress, but when I took a gravity reading at the end it was only 1.044. The recipe says target OG of 1.050. What are the possible reasons that I came short of the target? Any ideas what I need to do...

    Electrim BIAB setup.

I recently bought this set up. It's ok but what I'm wondering is; could I take the element and the probe from the boiler and fit them in a 40 ltr stainless steel pan? Would feel better with a solid boiler rather than a plastic one? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Beer fairies

Anyone else suffering from visits from the beer fairies? I used to suffer slightly at the hands of the beer fairies when I drank commercial beer, but since I've started home brewing I've been plagued by them. No sooner is my brew ready to drink, it seems it's gone. Vanished! All I'm left with...

    Starsan dilution rate.

I've bought some Starsan early in the week and have used it once so far. I know the dilution rate is 1.5ml/litre but the measuring capsule on the bottle only has 1/2oz and 1/4oz marks. Anyone know how these relate when making a 5 litre amount for example?

    Why no Krausen?

I brewed a batch of Bulldog Four Finger Jack IPA a couple of months back and while in the FV it produced no Krausen. Last weekend I started a batch of Festival Summer Ale and this has also produced no Krausen. I've just checked the gravity on the Summer Ale however and it's already down to 1010...

Priming mini kegs with dry malt extract

I'm putting a batch of Youngs IPA and Youngs APA into mini kegs this weekend and I'm thinking of priming with DME. Can anyone offer any advice regards how much DME to use per mini keg?. Up until now I have only bottled my beer and have used carbonation drops for priming. Will using DME affect...

    Possible second fermentation problem

I bottled a batch of Bulldog four finger jack IPA nearly two weeks ago. I put a carbonation drop in each bottle as normal. I opened a bottle last night to see how it's getting on, when I opened the bottle there was only the fainted noise of escaping gas and the beer is very flat. Is it just a...

    Bottling after cold crashing

I've just transferred by latest brew, which had finished fermenting, to a secondary vessel and put it on a crash cool of 3.3 degrees. The vessel I've transferred it to is of the type with a tap at the bottom. When I come to bottle the beer will I be able to just bottle from the tap or should I...

    Advice please

I'm currently drinking my second attempt at home brew, a batch of Muntons American style IPA which I'm very very pleased with. It's right up my street. Now, when I pour it from the bottle I have to leave a small amount in the bottom of the bottle as this is cloudy and has some form of sediment...
