    Kegged today

    Just kegged my first brew for ages. Youngs brew buddy bitter. Been in FV for 7 days and hydrometer was 1010. Hoping ain't done it too soon :pray: Had a little taste as ya do and it ain't bad. Can't wait to have me first pint in a month or so :drink:

    Cracked crystal malt?

    Got a recipe that calls for cracked crystal malt. I can't find it anywhere. Does anyone know where I can buy some. Crushed is available every where will that do? Cheers :drink: PJ

    Is one 11.5g Safale s-04 sachet enough for four 5 litre Demi johns? It's says on packet enough for 20/30 litres. Cheers :drink: PJ

    FB temp too high??

    I've got my bin in the shed. Which holds a constant temp of 20c but the bin itself is at 23c according to my stick on aquarium thermometer. Which I measured against my dip in thermometer and it's pretty accurate. Is this too warm as the kit says between 18 and 20c but another thread I've read...

    Priming a king keg?

    So am I right in thinking that you still add 2.5ml for each pint. Same as if bottling, so 100ml. Cheers :drink: PJ

    Given 2 kits are they any good?

    Been given 2 kits today one is a Tom Caxton ale and the other is a youngs bitter. Dunno if they are any good but I'm gonna give em a go. Thinking about using honey for one of them, which one would benefit from this the most? Cheers PJ :drink:

    King keg co2 question

    I was watching a video on YouTube of a guy topping up his king keg with co2. The 8oz pin type. He screwed it down left it for about 2 secs then unscrewed it and gas hissed out. He said it was normal and they correct way to do it. I've just recieved my keg and it says on the destructions to leave...

    How does the co2 bulb fit on the cap pin? Is it with the red plastic thingy holder? Do you place the bulb in that and screw it down? Had a co2 air rifle once was useless in the cold lol Cheers PJ

    Newb question alert :lol: Been collecting my ale bottles over the last few months, mostly Fursty Ferret. Are they suitable for bottling my homebrew? Someone told me that they aren't but cant see why not. I'm sure I used old Newcy brown bottles years ago. Cheers PJ
