Wyeast problems. No activity for the second time.

Thanks guys. I've ordered another pack of wyeast anyway. If nothing has happened by the time it comes, I will use that too. On the upside, the wort tasted pretty good. :thumb: Andy

Wyeast problems. No activity for the second time.

OK. Thanks. Excuse my ignorance, does this mean it will just take longer to start/ferment, or it will not ferment to the desired Final Gravity? I guess I am asking is it worth waiting, or do I need to do something? If more yeast is required at some point, am I better going for a packet of...

I just pitched it. The instructions said a starter was not needed.

Hi What am I doing wrong? I am on my second foray into AG brewing. Both recipes have suggested Wyeast. The first was for a Kolsch, but I don't think I stored the yeast properly, and it did nothing until I added some mangrove jacks yeast after about 72 hours. It then fermented OK, but the beer...

    Belgium style kits.

Brewferm's Diablo is a Duvel style. Very good when I did it a couple of years ago. Also like their Grand Cru. Would recommend both. Andy

Does type of sugar affect SG?

Hi I am currently in the process of brewing a Brewferm Abdij kit. It's the second of these I've done, and about the 7th Brewferm kit in total. No problems at all before. It's been in the FV for 12 days, and I cannot get the SG below 1.020.It has been stable for about 4 days following a good...

    Too cold for Carbonation?

Hi I brewed 2 different Brewferm kits before Christmas, about 3 weeks apart. I bottled them as I normally do, but they have been in my cold garage since. Both batches are as flat as a pancake. Should the carbonation occur if they are now put in a warm place for a bit? Both taste OK, and I have...

Hi. Please be gentle with me!

I think the old brun has been my favourite so far. I've got another one in the garage. I might start brewing it tonight. Or maybe the wheat beer, or the abbey.............. :wha:

    Pope Benedict Resigns

I think he has had a better offer. I'm sure I saw him in my local last week talking to the landlord. He must be the new barman.

Hi. Please be gentle with me!

Hi I am in the process of brewing my third or fourth homebrew kit. Over the last few years I have developed a taste for Belgian beer, and last autumn I thought I would try brewing my own from the Brewferm range. I have brewed and drank Old Brown and Grand Cru. Very pleased with the results, and...
