    Grainfather Connect Control Box!

Unsure if this has been posted elsewhere... http://us8.campaign-archive1.com/?u=ccba2b8b21c27d9056584bbcb&id=62caef344f&e=[UNIQID Pretty cool news! I've been toying with BM vs. GF and this is has made me stop and think. Especially since I'll be moving to NZ soon.

    Upgrade Grainfather STC

So I was browsing a Kiwi forum and came across a post about someone upgrading their Grainfather's STC, essentially giving it a new, smarter, brain. Basically for very little cash (seems to be easily under 50GBP) you can have almost the same functionality as a Braumeister (programming steps, hop...

How the craft beer revolution started

Modern tribes: the craft beer enthusiast

http://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2015/dec/12/modern-tribes-craft-beer-enthusiast?CMP=fb_gu I did have a wee chuckle.

    Modern Times Beer

http://moderntimesbeer.com/beer/release-calendar Was fortuitous enough to sample 3 of their All Year releases (Fortunate Islands, Black House, Blazing World) last weekend. Lovely beers, and when they say hoppy they aren't lying, the wheat beer was the hoppiest I've ever tasted! You'd think it...

Greatest Road Trip in the World?

With the help of Science! http://flowingdata.com/2015/10/26/top-brewery-road-trip-routed-algorithmically/ Now that would be a great way to spend a few months...

    Pour your own pint...

Self service taps have been introduced in a relatively new beer drinking venue in Australia. It sounds cool and would be a nice novelty the first few times but just seems a bit gimmicky and impractical in an alcohol drinking establishment. It's not self serve Pepsi where all you can get is some...

    Looking to invest in system

Hi folks! Been a while since I've been on the forum but I need some advice. I'm looking to invest in a decent brew system (pilot system if you will) in the near future. I think we've all seen the fairly sexy (in my opinion anyway!) Brew-Magic by SABCO...

    Brewery near you?

I thought this was quite interesting and worth sharing: Map of UK Breweries Not sure how up-to-date it is but Google usually does a good job. So what's close to you then?

    Dry.... Oating?

Had a search on the forum and couldn't see anything... My query is about dry oating, as in the same process as dry hopping but with oats. Anyone done this? Was toying with the idea for my oatmeal stout, I want full on oat flavour. Stupid idea?

    Adding sugar for carbonation...

... does this not then mean that the alcohol level changes a wee bit from your FG? This may be a stupid question and I can't see it on the forum from a search... Yeast eats sugar = alcohol (roughly) - Obviously it's creating co2 as well (as part of the process and the intended outcome). Can...

    My first brew!

So I'm happy to announce my first (extract/grain) brew was sampled today. http://www.rd-airsoft.co.uk/uploads/Tor ... tinker.JPG It's low on percentage, tastes rather malty and has good (if not too much for style) carbonation - which I was worried about. Overall very chuffed for my...

    Your most bizarre brew...?

So I asked the question last time with regards to people fitting the brewing stereotype - got some great responses! (I should make a graph...) Anyway... My query today is - What is the most bizarre concoction of brew you have either deliberately set out to make or made accidentally? I'm...

    Do you fit the stereotype?

Just for a laugh I thought I would ask the question... most people seem to associate home brewing beer/ale with bearded gentleman. So do you sport a fuzzy face? Let's pretend this is really important scientific information... ;) I for one do sport a beard. :D Dan Bearded Beer Research...

    Kwak (Quack)

Anyone had this before? http://www.belgianbeercafe.com/beers/kwak Had it in Belguim last year (when at the football) and though it was very, very nice. Would be great if I could attempt a clone... Caramelised bananas sounds interesting! Cheers, Dan

    First Brew Musings

So I carried out my first part special grain part extract brew. And it didn't go according to plan, nut being my first attempt I grudgingly accepted this. Now I had everything planned (Beer Brewing Battle Plan it was titled), a 2 page step-by-step guide on the day process. It was to be a well...

    Brew Pot

So.... first query post! There will be more... Planning on starting my home brewing and reading up on this quite a bit (just now the howtobrew website - it's good) my first question is: I do do not have a 20/30l brew pot, that's massive. I do have access to two 7l pots (14l total). So my first...
