Thanks guys, maybe the 1tea spoon for lager, 1/2 for IPA is a bit over egged.. Maybe 1/2 is good enough all the time... Or maybe Im just getting old. :lol:

Hi :-P I made some lager, bottled it about two weeks ago. :hmm: I just looked at in the bottle and it was quite clear except for a few small lumps floating very near the bottom. Not a single bubble in sight... Thats wierd i thought. Not one bubble?! Hardly any settlement. It had come...

I stopped buying small bags this year. Just bought a 25kg sack of pale malt for 28 quid. Claims to be good for a year. Usually i would buy a 3kg bag at 4.40 and two 1kg bags 1.48. 500g is 77p. If my LHBS can make money on selling me bulk like that surely the market can too?

I use rain water with flies and all sorts of stuff in it. Run it though a 6 quid water filter (you can use one about 5 times before its blocked) and the rest of its taken care of in the boil... Im not dead yet. :party:

Hello, Im not much one for puzzles but prehaps some of you are. Ive started making a delicious IPA with a recipe of left overs I had and by accident its become highly sort after and everyone has enjoyed it. The problem is it doesnt have a name. When I am brewing, bottling or generally faffing...

I have an old fridge and when the fermenting is done I chill it down to about 2-6C for about two days. Then I syphon to the priming bucket and bottle. I find this method best.

Its not really mine to give, some one lent me it / gave it to me... actually im not really sure who owns it. I had suspected it of cutting out sometimes... Not sure whats wrong with it, could be the element fuse or a saftey cut out if it has one, could even be the flex... Its pretty smashed...

So do i buy a brewpacks 85 quider or build my own fire hazard? :wha: After building my own mash tun Im not so sure I can be bothered building my own boiler...

Got up fairly early as i am an outside brewer, then I got ambushed and waylaid with a financial discussion in which I couldnt miss. So finally at 11 I get all the gear out, I start running the rain water through the water filter as it heats up... Filters clogged... I knew i needed another one...
