    Grains, Liquid Yeast, Still viable

I have been away from brewing for 2 years. Will all my grains/liquid yeast etc still be OK to use. Only ask as I seem to be out of touch with brewing best practices and brewing has apparently changed in the last two years. So will it be ok to use 2 year old ingredients in this brave new modern...

    Double mash.

Went into the garage to do something and got a little distracted. Now bare with me and see if you think this will fly. How does this work as a HERMs system. The whole set up will be sitting on the tea trolly so it can be moved around and stay together ready for use. From Burco (I know it...

    THE RETURN OF THE SNAIL.

I'm back folks :D. Have almost got the house and garden in order. Started to sort garage/workshop out. Have spent a lot of time over winter working on a classic 70's two stroke I purchased a year ago. Now I find I have some time to start re building the brewery with a view to starting brewing...

Forgive Me Brewers for I have sinned

It has been almost 10 months since my last brew (23/10/2011). My Guinness clone from the Graham Wheeler book (sadly long gone). I have 2 bottles of my Sarah Hughes Dark Ruby Mild (not my best brew so that could be why some has survived). I have been moved into my new house for 4 months now and...

    Tank Stat

Anyone see any reason why one of these TANK STAT cant be used to control the temp of an HLT. They just sit on the surface of your domestic hot water tank and are just held in place by a strap. You have no need to drill holes for probes etc. Simple two wire set up which I assume just breaks the...

    Timothy Taylor Landlord.

Had my first bottle of this last night. Given that the clone recipe in the Graham Wheeler book is so simple this is a really really nice beer. Will be putting it on my to do list.
