Never heard of a snakebite with bitter either, was always cider and lager back in the day, maybe i need educating.......

Did do a Merrydown cider, Tennants super snakebite or three once at a party, don't remember to much about it TBH......

A pint of mixed back home (Midlands), was always bitter and mild....

We used to drink Hartleys best bitter with ordinary bitter which we called a pint of mixed, this was a rugby team from away that had Lager and bitter and called it mixed. :-?

As a student many moons ago - Guiness mixed with Newcastle Brown. Deadly stuff.

Newcastle Brown ale (locally called dog) and cider mixed to give a Dogbite!
Deadly stuff as it's too easy to drink.

Or Guinness (or Mackeson) and cider as Black velvet.

I read a post a few minutes ago about lager tops and it reminded me of stuff we used to drink probably as was said in the thread lager was awful in those days so any addition made it better, what weird and wonderful concoction did you used to drink?

Snakebite (as we called it AKA Diesel) lager and cider and blackcurrant

One for the ladies - Blastaway - Castaway and diamond white.

I know this has been done before but we have a lot more new members in now so worth another go.

Snakebite, every time, sneaking in to the local pool/snooker hall and ordering four pints of it, result

Turbo shandy. Bacardi breezer with vodka.

The already mentioned snakebite. Again with added vodka.

Cheap 1 liter bottles of energy drink 1/4 filled with a spirit of your choice.

K cider

Snorting vodka. In which my mate took it to next level **** and eye balled it.

All of which are tame compared to other naughtyness

I'm bloody glad I stick to ale these days.

I cut my teeth on Manns Brown Ale then moved on to Mansfield Bitter. Both still available.

Had a memorable "lunch" on a ship once.
Went ashore for a liquid lunch.
Got stuck into Newcastle Browns with Whisky Chasers.
Woke up naked in a strange bed to the comment "You were no fun."
Rolled over to see strange naked woman combing her hair at a dressing table.
Dressed and promised to return that evening and went back to the ship.
Didn't return to lady that evening but got fined a day's pay anyway.
Having a cuppa at next morning's "smoko" whilst nursing a terrible hangover.
Huge man with small mate in tow arrives at mess-room door and asks for me by name.
I deny all knowledge of a man of that name and shipmates agree with me.
Man vowed he would "Git the baastaard!" as he must be on the ship across the dock.
Went to pull in the gangplank and met the lady from the night before hiding behind a crane.
Lady had a newly acquired black-eye.
Lady explained that a neighbour had told her husband that she had had a "visitor".
Finished pulling in the gangplank (now a matter of some urgency).
Promised to see the lady when the ship returned in three weeks time.
Paid off the ship at the next port of call and never went back to that port.
Never had a Newcastle Brown with a Whisky Chaser ever since either!

Ah,the old snakebite, many a landlord back in the day wouldn't serve that as it gave the impression that their beer was cloudy and put off the punters

just remembered one more
black and tan (stout and cider) a mans drink so they say

I remember some of the draught lagers tasting good back in the 80's, Holstein Export and Kronenberg were both nice.

Used to be wrexham lager on a night round the town...until carlsberg tetley bought them and shut it...I then went to bitter then Guinness then most things not lager...in fact I haven't really had a decent pint of lager in 15 years.....

Basically she wants this - Deus
