Joined Aug 22, 2011 Messages 1,065 Reaction score 7 Location Leicestershire Nov 12, 2012 #4 I'd go for loose too, it's the bed of hops combined with a hop filter that will help retain the worst of the cold break material in the bottom of the boiler and keep it out of your fermenter.
