Hope its OK to bump the old thread, but I'm tempted with the fastferment and wondered how you actually go about purging the ball with co2?
I use a standard Hambleton Bard co2 cylinder that screws down onto the keg. Is there a fitting I can get that would do the job?

I used a old Hb co2 bottle with a pb lid n valve as a bleed valve for flushing out buckets etc, wear gloves as its spits out all over, removing the rubber band inner valve and slipping some large tube up over the valve body under the lid would allow you to direct the co2 better, just dont hold any tube in place it will be Very col Very quickly.. fix it tight before use..
