My first brewday post on here. No pressure then :)

This was meant to be a simple pale ale recipe bittered with Green Bullet, flavoured with Pacific Gem and dry hopped with Nelson Sauvin but it has been rather fraught.

Firstly I got home from Easy Home Brew having failed to buy Green Bullet :nono: so I've used PG in the boil as well. Then I put the HLT on the timer to heat up at 6am with a view to getting up at 7am, mashing in and going back to bed. If I'd remembered to set the alarm I'd be chilling the brew by now

Grain bill 23L Brewlength

4.50kg MO
250g Aromatic Malt
250g Cara Pils

Hops
23g Pacific Gem 17%AA FWH
43g Pacific Gem @ Flame Out

10g PG Dry Hop
15g Nelson Sauvin Dry Hop

Yeast US-05

IBU 42
Target OG 1051
EBC 11.6

Pics to follow.

As I write this there's about 30 mins left on the boil, then it's dump a protofloc in, wait 5 mins then chill to 80c before adding the flame out hops.

Forgot to add some water to take the pre boil volume up to 30.74 litres fo ended up with 17L at 1059 instead of 23 @ 1051.

Pacific gem are a great hop and those nelson will be amazing in the dry hop - great brew and brewday
