ive made a couple of brews that are now conditioning they have finished at around 7 and a 9% but if i backsweeten with more cordial how much will the alcohol % drop.
if i added 220ml of cordial to 4.5 litres or 110 ml to 4.5 litres would it make a big drop in %
im not to clued up on alcohol % and volume
could i just add whatever amount to backsweeten then take a hydrometer reading ?

If you had 4.5 litres @ 9% and added 200ml you would have 4.7 litres @ 8.6%

9 x 4.5÷ 4.7 = 8.6

cheers for that moley .
i can use that sum for future brews changing the values to what i need :)
