Schoolboy error.
I always use AJ and 200g of sugar to give me about 7.5%. Never bother with readings anymore - just do it by feel. Forgot to check the sugar content of the syrup though - quick calc sets this at a potential 13% should the yeast brew that high (its a cider/champagne yeast, so assuming it will).

Schoolboy error? This does raise the question. Do your parents know you're brewing this stuff?

Well, I bottled my TC's at the weekend - the Lowicz one seems to have turned out ok.
Fruit taste is a little strong compared with my usual flavoured ciders, but I think it will mellow. Also, the mouth feel is a little thicker than usual. Will try it again in a few weeks after its carbed up.
Think I'll stick with these syrups going forwards - I've another raspberry on the go at the moment using juice, and it's developed the grey brain on top as usual. The syrup cider had very little sediment at all.
