Not really, it's an annual event. On our bit of moor it doesn't usually get out of control, that tends to happen more over towards Halifax.
 
It happens every year, in exactly the same place, and given the recent weather and how nicely it spread exactly where some farmers might like it, one suspects the use of accelerant. The BBC reckons 30 firefighters fought it and put it out, but I reckon they just watched it until it stopped by itself. Maybe a bit of damping down Just In Case
