a week today.
woke up to this.🤦‍♂️🤔😔
the first Scoby is knacked!
Hayhoo!
we live and learn.
doesn’t help the faff on with temp control.
Too low of temp and the starter never got to get to acid stage.
At least my cleaning and sanitising was on the ball as usual.
i (we ) all can learn from this, doesn’t matter a small batch or big. shows that yeast/bacteria is like a small baby! if not kept in a comfortable environment & fed one of the factors with mess up!
RIGHT not getting hung on it.
i could of just not told yous, but you know me warts and all.
back to plan A.
we know the second scoby was healthy and a good starter.
the temp control was fixed.
So lady and gents, me thinks a one litre batch coming in a few days.

the question is take out the bad scoby (filtered it) keep the new scoby (only a day old)
check pH of starter tea.
get it and starter tea in obv. clean n sanitised jar. A new starter tea added. Then see what happens.
the net advise if mold on scoby ITS A NEW SCOBY & STARTER TEA.

hallow guys,
well i would say i’m beat!! but the new scoby is grafting.
temp controlled sorted.
seter tea and under the recommended pH.
but alas stuck on 3.6.
still sweet.
sooo unless a miracle happens the morn oot come the scoby, in the compost bin.
And i’ll start again.
even looked at the tea lol and i use filtered water, goes with saying cleaning and sanitazing is tops.
so guys watch this space lol
