Can i supplement a Kit with extras?

Just picked up a youngs merlot 5 gallon kit for £12 in the sale at wilkos.

Do you think it would be OK to make it with additional fruit (ie. Elderberries) to make a fuller bodied/slightly stronger wine?

I dont really want to waste the kit or the elderberries.

I have not done a wine kit yet but you certinally can do this. Many have added elderberries or bramble to add extra body and flavour but i do think it takes longer to mature as a result though.

If you do I would add pectolase as well to help it clear. :thumb:
